Wednesday’s high schools: Noah Bleakley, Granby shut down Monson

Senior pitcher Noah Bleakley threw a shutout and struck out 12, as the Granby baseball team beat Monson 9-0 on the road Wednesday.
Bleakley punched out the first five batters he faced and walked just one in seven innings.
“Pretty dominant performance,” Granby coach Jim Woods said. “He got his first pitch strike over, and his off-speed stuff was pretty spot on.”
Mike Sosa had three hits and two RBIs for the Rams (5-3). Tom Rezzani added tow hits and three RBIs.
Joe Bessette went 2-for-4, and Joe Desormier had a hit and an RBI.
Mahar 18, Hopkins Academy 3 — Noah Scanlon-Dean went 3-for-4 in a road loss.
The Golden Hawks (3-3) committed five errors.
South Hadley 17, Easthampton 7 — Nehemiah Wilson was 2-for-4 with an RBI triple, and pitched two shutout innings to close the game. Drew Foley had three singles, two runs and two RBIs for the Tigers (3-1).

Dawson Wolcott and Matt Zielenski each singled twice, and Wolcott drove in a run. Nathan Morse added an RBI double for the Eagles (1-4).
Granby 18, Smith Academy 4 (5) — The Rams (2-5) had 19 hits in a home win.
Kylie Biron (three RBIs) was 2-for-2 with a two-run homer, while Kate Sullivan (two RBIs) went 3-for-3 with a solo home run.
Emily Sawyer doubled twice and drove in three.
Karlie Guimond singled and scored twice for Smith Academy (1-4).
Longmeadow 16, Belchertown 4 (5) — The Orioles (1-6) had 12 hits, but left 12 runners on base.
Emma Leblanc and Tiffany Mann each went 3-for-3 with a run scored.
Delaney O’Brien was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Minnechaug 12, South Hadley 0 — Mikhaila Edge had a hit and was hit by a pitch for the Tigers (0-6).
Brattleboro Union 14, Amherst 13 (2OT) — The Hurricanes stormed back from a halftime deficit to force overtime, but fell on the road.
Rachel Kawall led Amherst with six goals. Malia McDonald added three goals and an assist.
Jane O’Connell found the back of the net twice, and Tea LaRaja and Malina Kern had one goal each.
Cleo Hein had five saves for the Hurricanes, including two in overtime.
