The Valley Flyer will feature southbound trains leaving Northampton at 6:10 a.m. and 8 a.m. on weekdays and 9:40 a.m. and at 8:35 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Northbound trains leaving from Northampton will be at 9:57 p.m. and 12:12 a.m. on weekdays and at 8:32 a.m. and 7:27 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

These trains are in addition to the existing Vermonter service, which leaves Northampton southbound at 2:01 p.m. on weekdays and weekends and leaves Northampton at 3:57 p.m. on weekdays and weekends.

The Valley Flyer runs from Greenfield to New Haven, Connecticut, where passengers heading to other destinations can switch trains.

Tickets from Northampton to Greenfield are $10. For the following stops originating in Northampton, a one-way ride is cheaper if purchased 14 or more days in advance: Tickets to New York City are $54 and $67; tickets to Springfield are $10 and $13; and tickets to Washington, D.C. are $74 and $99.

Using the promo code V459 will give riders 25 percent off fares originating from or ending in Northampton, Greenfield and Holyoke through October.
