Nicole Sterste and Emily Slater beat Nicole Leroux and Hanna Kanig 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 at second doubles to clinch the Belchertown girls tennis team’s 3-2 win over Northampton, Thursday at JFK Middle School.

Kate Assimus (third singles) and Jordyn Paul (first singles) won the match’s first two points, respectively, to give the Orioles (5-2) a 2-0 lead.

Jordan Kuhr won 6-3, 6-3 over Emily Hamparian to cut the deficit in half for the Blue Devils (4-4).

Northampton’s first doubles team of Sophie Renauld and Maeve Raphael-Reily improved to 5-0 on the season with a win.
