HOLYOKE — Police detectives are looking for the public’s help in identifying a male suspect who stole two watches valued at $15,000 from Hannoush Jewelers in the Holyoke Mall last week.
Police Lt. James Albert — commander of the city’s Criminal Investigations Bureau — requested the public’s assistance identifying a suspect on Thursday. Police released stills of surveillance footage that shows the suspect, who allegedly asked to examine the two watches before making off with the merchandise on Sept. 30.
Once the clerk provided those items the subject ran from the store without paying for the watches, according to police. A black or dark-colored SUV was believed to be involved in the incident.
Efforts to reach the owners of Hannoush Jewelers were unsuccessful Thursday. Albert did not respond to an email and voicemail left Thursday afternoon.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Bureau at the Holyoke Police Department at 413-322-6940.
