NORTHAMPTON — A pedestrian struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning on King Street was transported to Baystate Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Northampton Police Sgt. Joe Golec said police responded to the crash at King and Allen Place as soon as it happened at 10:09 a.m. because one of its officers saw it occur.

Golec said that the pedestrian was struck by a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze. There was no update on the pedestrian’s condition, he said.

Golec said the crash is under investigation, and that the operator of the vehicle stayed at the scene and has been cooperating with the investigation.

Part of King Street was temporarily closed Wednesday morning.
