Captain America 3 Civil War: Political interference in the Avengers' activities causes a rift between former allies, Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). Also stars Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen. Rated PG-13.

The Conjuring 2: Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) and Ed Warren (Patrick Wilson) travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by a malicious spirit. Also stars Madison Wolfe. Rated R.

De Palma: A documentary about writer and director Brian De Palma, considered by many to be one of America’s greatest storytellers. Directed by Noah Baumbach, Jake Paltrow. Rated R.

The Fits: While training at the gym, 11-year-old tomboy Toni (Royalty Hightower) becomes entranced with a dance troupe. As she struggles to fit in, she finds herself caught up in danger as the group begins to suffer from fainting spells and other violent fits. Also stars Alexis Neblett, Makyla Burnam. Not rated.

Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising: When their new next-door neighbors turn out to be a sorority even more debaucherous than the fraternity previously living there, Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly (Rose Byrne) team with their former enemy, Teddy (Zac Efron), to bring the girls down. Also stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Selena Gomez. Rated R.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping: When it becomes clear that his solo album is a failure, a former boy band member (Andy Samberg) does everything in his power to maintain his celebrity status. Also stars Jorma Taccone, Akiva Schaffer, Sarah Silverman, Tim Meadows, Maya Rudolph, Joan Cusack. Rated R/

Empire: Season 2: A hip-hop mogul must choose a successor among his three sons who are battling for control over his multi-million dollar company, while his ex-wife schemes to reclaim what is hers. As Season 2 begins, three months after his arrest, Lucious (Terrence Howard) tries to run Empire Entertainment while in federal lockup. Also stars Taraji P. Henson, Jussie Smollett.

Madam Secretary: Season 2: Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni) tries to balance her work and family life. At the start of Season 2, a series of events leaves Madam Secretary as Madam President. Also stars Tim Daly, Patina Miller.
