Four local teams have qualified for the MIAA field hockey tournament, as seeds and brackets for the statewide tournament were released on Tuesday.
The top seed among local squads is No. 8 Frontier in the Division 4 tournament. The Redhawks are fresh off a Class C Western Mass. title over Greenfield, a team they could face in the Round of 16 in the state tournament if both teams win their opening games.
Frontier will host No. 25 Leicester on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
Also qualifying for the Division 4 tournament was No. 30 Hampshire. The Raiders will travel to No. 3 Cohasset for its opening game on Thursday at 6 p.m.
In Division 3, Belchertown earned the No. 19 seed and will travel to No. 14 Medfield for its first contest. The teams will meet in the Round of 32 on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Northampton also earned a state tournament berth in the Division 2 field, as the Devils punched their ticket in the tournament thanks to a 9-9 regular season record.
No. 34 Northampton will travel to No. 31 Holliston in the preliminary round on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.. The winner will advance to the Round of 32 and play No. 2 Nashoba Regional.
