Wow, Gazette, you are doubling down on your desire to make trans lives even more difficult than necessary. Karen Bercovici’s guest column reads like a conservative rant of the “close the door behind me” variety [“LGBTQ and the erasure of true female identity,” Gazette, March 4].

This is no less a bigoted column than that of the extreme right. While we value varying opinions, this one reeks of the same propaganda the MAGA folks use as fear tactics — and puts trans people in significant danger. Further, this writer wants to deny other marginalized groups the right to be who they are, which is exactly what she purports to have fought for her whole life. Think before you print.
