Kim Nedeau finishes 9th, Team USA earns bronze at World Mountain Running Championships

Leverett’s Kim Nedeau ran to a top-10 finish at the World Mountain Running Championships, while Team USA took bronze in the women’s competition on Sept. 11.

She was ninth, completing the 7.3-kilometer course in 42 minutes, 51 seconds in Sapareva Banya, Bulgaria.

The course featured 773 meters of climbing and 89 meters of descent.

Team USA edged Great Britain, 36-37 for third.

“For the first time this year, the team goal was above my personal goal. I wanted to do my part in contributing to the team accomplishment,” Nedeau said in a release. “It was an experience of a lifetime. I am very grateful to be here on September 11, to represent the USA.”

Her teammates, Addie Bracy, Ladia Albertson Junkans and Bethany Sachtleben finished in 12th, 15th and 18th respectively.
