Hard at work

“Transperformance” is back for the 26th time, to raise money for arts enrichment in Northampton schools. As in the past, organizers at the Northampton Arts Council invited local musicians to impersonate famous ones whose band names or music relate to a theme. This year it’s “Labor Party.”

For example, Young@Heart Chorus will appear as MGMT; Page Six as The Police; Philip Price as Red House Painter, King Radio as Men at Work, Zip Cody as Johnny Paycheck ... you get the idea.

The show’s Tuesday, 4 to 9:30 p.m. at the Pines Theater at Look Park. $10; $8 for seniors and veterans; $5 for kids 12 and under. www.hamparts.org.

“A loosely woven tale of a woodswalking artist in tiny words, paintings and photographs,” an exhibit by local artist Denise Beaudet, will be on view at the A.P.E. Gallery, 126 Main St. in Northampton, this weekend only. For information, visit www.apearts.org.
