Each year, Fitting for the Future organizer Noryn Resnick asks participants to complete a short feedback form at the end of the day-long event. She asks five questions, and these are some of the things this year’s attendees had to say:

I am glad I came because I got the dress of my dreams and it made me more confident.

I am glad I came today because I wasn’t alone.

I am glad I came because my foster parents don’t have money and I felt and looked beautiful.

I am glad I came because it made me feel better about myself.

I am glad I came because it made me feel ready for the future.

Being here today made me feel more special and beautiful than ever.

Being here today made me feel important.

Being here today made me feel welcome.

I am glad I came because I feel special even though living in foster care is very stressful.

I am glad I came because this event made me look at myself differently.

I am glad I came because I needed to see that I am beautiful.
