Bicyclist injured in collision with car

NORTHAMPTON — A bicyclist was injured in a collision with a car at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Wright Avenue early Tuesday afternoon, according to Northampton Police.

The 20-year-old bicyclist suffered minor injuries and was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital, according to Northampton Police Department Captain Victor Caputo.

The car’s driver was traveling on Wright Avenue and moved into a crosswalk to see around the corner onto Pleasant Street, when the bicyclist pedaled by on the wrong side of Pleasant Street, according to a police report, Caputo said. No citations were issued, he said.
