AMHERST — On June 25, 1919, Massachusetts ratified the 19th Amendment that gave women the right to vote.
Within a year, the amendment was ratified by three quarters of the states.
On Thursday, members of the League of Women Voters will have a walk to commemorate the centennial of the amendment becoming law.
Beginning at noon at Kendrick Park, the walk will head to Town Hall, with members dressed as suffragists.
Anyone is welcome to join and is encouraged to wear white, with sashes and straw hats. Everyone who participates should also wear a mask and maintain appropriate social distancing.
