Amherst opening Bangs as cooling center for Tuesday, Wednesday

AMHERST — A temporary cooling center will operate at the Bangs Community Center, 70 Boltwood Walk, both Tuesday and Wednesday.

With temperatures expected in the upper 90s both days, the community is invited to use the air-conditioned space in the Large Activity Room from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Social distancing will be encouraged. The space will close on the morning of July 1.
