Tim Huber: A simple solution to Route 10 road danger

I read with interest Gazette reporter Emily Thurlow’s article “Taming a road’s dangers“(Jan. 6). I have driven that stretch in Easthampton many times in the 20 years I’ve lived here and laughed (in a sad, sarcastic way) often. It needs to be fixed, absolutely! And, I know in the long run, we’ll get it done. But, how about a simple short-term solution, lower the speed limits. I come from Northampton, 50 mph, then Easthampton near Cumberland Farms and River Valley Co-op, 45 mph, then the U.S. Post Office, 40 mph, until West Street. Wake up, slower speed, better reaction time. Simple, short-term solution.
