SPRINGFIELD — A former employee of the VA Medical Center in Leeds has been sentenced in Springfield federal court on charges of distributing child pornography using the Wi-Fi at the Center.

Kevin A. Divoll, 51, of Royalston, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Mark G. Mastroianni to eight years in prison and five years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $5,000 each to two of the identified victims. Divoll pleaded guilty on April 24 to one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

Divoll was identified as the owner and user of a device distributing child pornography over the center’s public Wi-Fi from May through July 2022. During a search of his residence in August 2022, Divoll was found to be in possession of child pornography that involved a prepubescent minor and a minor under the age of 12. Divoll’s arrest followed the search.

According to a criminal complaint filed in court, investigators located “hundreds of pictures and video files containing child pornography” on Divoll’s devices.

Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua S. Levy and Christopher Algieri, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General, Northeast Field Office, made the announcement. Significant assistance was provided by the Leeds VA Medical Center Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Catherine G. Curley of the Springfield Branch Office prosecuted the case.
