Annual town election in Hatfield to feature uncontested races

HATFIELD — Incumbents and a couple of newcomers, all in uncontested races, will make up the ballot for the May 21 town election.

Edmund E. Jaworski Jr. is running for another three-year term on the Select Board, having been first elected to the position at a special election in January 2017, while incumbent Catherine J. Englehardt and newcomer Imane Green are seeking three-year positions on the School Committee.

James Neal Tarr is running for a second, five-year term on Planning Board, while Douglas C. Finn, who was appointed to the position a few months ago, will run to serve out the remaining two years of the position.

Other incumbents running include Scott W. McCoy for a three-year term on the Board of Assessors, Dodie Eva Gaudet for a three-year term as library trustee, Jeffrey C. Zgrodnik for a three-year term on the Board of Health, Lucinda M. Williams for a three-year term on the Cemetery Commission, E. Lary Grossman for a five-year term on the Hatfield Redevelopment Authority and Lydia Szych for a one-year term as elector under the Oliver Smith Will.

There is also a vacancy is for a three-year position on the Hatfield Redevelopment Authority.

Candidates have until April 18 to withdraw their nominations.
