Gazebo to open E. Longmeadow store

NORTHAMPTON — Gazebo, the lingerie, bra fitting and swimsuit store in downtown Northampton, has expanded. Gazebo Too has opened in East Longmeadow in the former Coughlin’s Place Restaurant at 182 North Main St. A grand opening is slated for March 26 at 3 p.m.

Gazebo was founded in 1978 by Judith Fine and sold to employees Donna McNeight and Amy Dickinson in 2016.

Gazebo prides itself on full service bra, binder and cup-sized swimsuit fittings with cups ranging from AA-N. Gazebo is a proud ally of the LGBGTQ community and is wheelchair and service animal friendly.

McNeight will run Gazebo Too, and Dickinson will run Gazebo in Northampton.

Dress for Success Western appoints new leader

SPRINGFIELD — The Dress for Success Western Massachusetts board of directors has appointed Jessica Roncarati-Howe as the organization’s new executive director.

Roncarati-Howe’s has 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She previously held the executive director role at both The AIDS Foundation of Western Massachusetts and The Greater Chicopee Chamber of Commerce. With a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Bay Path University, her expertise lies in program development, management, board governance, and she prides herself on leading grassroots, mission-based organizations.

Roncarati-Howe succeeds Margaret Tantillo, the organization’s first executive director who, after six years in the role, departed for another opportunity in December.

Roncarati-Howe has been working at DFSWM for four years; she served as the interim executive director since Jan. 1, and before that, as the organization’s director of programs and operations.

A major goal for this year includes building out the organization’s office, boutique, and program space in the new O’Dell Women’s Center on Lyman Street in downtown Springfield. More immediately, Roncarati-Howe and the DFSWM team are looking forward to the organization’s annual celebration to support their work of empowering women in the community — Common Threads.

The event will be held on Thursday, April 11 at the Log Cabin. More information about Common Threads and tickets are available at dfswm.org.

Wellness program

NORTHAMPTON — ServiceNet has hired Megan Reed as director of its Wellness Program. Reed brings a rich background of education and experience to this new venture, which will initially be for adults receiving services through ServiceNet’s outpatient clinics.

fter completing her undergraduate degree in studio art at Wooster College in Ohio, Reed moved east to Smith College where she earned her master’s in exercise science and sports studies in 2009.

She had played multiple sports while growing up and scored All American honors as captain of her college lacrosse team. Reed went on to work as a private trainer for people with a wide range of wellness goals, from college athletes to retirees, including those with chronic pain, auto immune diseases, and other health challenges.

Redevelopment Authority seeks developer for Holyoke land

HOLYOKE — The Holyoke Redevelopment Authority is seeking development proposals for land located on Race and Main streets available for commercial and residential uses.

The property consists of six adjacent parcels of land that collectively contain approximately .75 acres of land and is zoned general industry. For this property, the HRA is seeking a development that would add new commercial development potentially mixed with housing.

The area around the property has seen notable developments over the past few years with more projects under construction or in the planning stage.

Adjacent to the south of the property is the “Cubit” building which is a mixed residential and commercial development, while directly to the north is the Armour Building currently being converted to a restaurant and co-working space.

Under construction one block away is WinnDevelopment’s Appleton Mills Phase 1 creating 88 units of 55-plus housing. Phase 2, which would bring an additional 75 units on-line, is in the planning stage.
