On Jan. 31, Congressman Jim McGovern voted for H.R.6679 [No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act], which passed. It makes it illegal for representatives of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) to enter the United States. The Biden administration is pushing the 2-state solution to end the enormity in Palestine/Israel, and intends to have the PLO represent the Palestinians. Since the passage of this law makes it impossible for the PLO to visit Washington D.C. to explain and gain support for its positions, I wonder why our congressman (who enjoys the safest blue seat in the nation) would do this. I called his Northampton office and they could not explain why, but were confident people at the D.C. office would know. I called D.C. and they could not explain why either. Nobody knows! This letter is intended as an invitation to our congressman to explain to everybody, including his staff, why he voted for a bill raised by Republicans to bar the PLO from the U.S. Here is the link to the bill’s history: www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/6679
