I agree with Aubrey Menard’s Jan. 30 guest column [“They paved paradise and put up a storage facilty”]. I moved here in April and the first thing I did was get out my bike and ride the stunning rail trail. I enjoyed sitting on the benches at that part of the trail and admiring the lovely mountains in the distance.

But my viewing pleasure was not to last long once the storage facility started being constructed. I didn’t know what it was at first. I thought maybe it was condominiums. I can live with housing. Massachusetts needs all the housing it can get. But once I found out that it was a storage facility, I was really shocked. It is truly a monstrosity and should never have been allowed to be built in that particular spot so close to the rail trail. Someone dropped the ball approving that construction.
