A recent Gazette article about the Tasty Top development in Easthampton (“City OKs massive Route 10 project,” Gazette, Nov. 10) mentioned that traffic was an outstanding issue. Is it ever! We live on the east side of Route 10 and at some times of day it is impossible to take a left from the driveway towards the center of Easthampton. We are concerned that it will also be impossible to take a right onto Northampton Street. The traffic jams caused by the new sidewalk installations are just a preview of the coming nightmare. This city is clearly keen on the increased tax revenue from this development, but if Route 10 is turned into the equivalent of Route 9 in Hadley it will severely erode our quality of life. This development should be scaled back.
