Julie Akeret: Where’s the ARPA funding for Gateway City Arts?

Last week my family attended a fabulous concert at Gateway City Arts in Holyoke. It was the 50th anniversary tour of Stormin’ Norman and Suzy, a bluesy duo we had seen many times in New York City years ago. I was sad to hear however that Gateway was left out of a recent Holyoke ARPA grant, thereby eliminating various cultural offerings and activities for the local community and beyond. With $19 million in ARPA funding for the city, how did this happen?
