Betty Ussach-Schwartz: Trump prefers jury of millions

Trump’s strategy is to evade convictions on his most serious indictments by postponing his trials until after the 2024 election. Preferring that millions of voters act as the jurors, he is convinced that he will be elected and can then postpone the trials indefinitely, or even if convicted he will pardon himself.

Such a plan clearly demonstrates his sense of invulnerability and unaccountability, as well as his narcissistic personality. Still favored by millions of MAGA voters and opportunistic politicians, and experiencing no significant diminishment in donations, he has deluded himself into believing that not only will he evade punishment but will become the first unitary president of the United States.

It is of little consolation that some Republicans are publicly rebuking him and withholding contributions. The news media is constantly showcasing the MAGA supporters who either disbelieve anything negative about Trump or are willing to overlook all the malfeasance and criminality because “he really cares about us” and “I don’t like some of his speeches but he did so much as president.”

Having such unbreakable trust and devotion indicates to Trump that he will always be innocent in the eyes of his diehard supporters, and no matter the ultimate outcome of all the indictments, he will be victorious and always flush with new donations.
