Peter Lamdin: Article missing contributors to city’s live music scene

I wanted to write a quick letter in response to the June 9 Gazette article “The live music conundrum.” I agree with much of what was written, especially regarding the closing of Eric Suher’s music venues, but I was extremely disappointed that the article, and those interviewed, did not mention Signature Sounds and The Parlor Room.

The Parlor Room is an absolute gem with a regular schedule of concerts in an intimate space with a stellar collection of local and national musicians. In addition, Signature Sounds recently produced the Back Porch Festival at multiple sites in town, and also scheduled concerts and events at The Academy of Music.

Signature Sounds has been a major player in the world of recorded and live music. They have been a huge asset to Northampton and the surrounding area for over 20 years, and bring a great deal of joy to many of us. The article did a great disservice but not even giving Signature Sounds and The Parlor Room a mention.
