Terry A. Hoog: Questions Christian connection to mass shootings

In response to  the column "Happy in Helsinki" by J.M. Sorrell [Gazette, April 5], I agree with the happiness of the Scandinavian countries. (I'm Swedish-American.) That said, I'm very hurt about the column’s anti-Christian stance on the issue of gun violence. The writer states that to get to the root of the problem we need to address patriarchal violence and religiosity. This is along with her claim that the majority of mass shooters were raised in Christian households. I can't find anything to substantiate this. If anything, it's just the opposite. Those raised in solid, Christian families are far less likely to commit violence.
