Money items up for vote in first part of Granby’s Town Meeting

GRANBY — Town Meeting voters will consider a number of budget articles, but not the town budget, when they gather for the meeting’s first installment Monday.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the East Meadow Elementary School on East State Street.

Money articles up for a vote include $271,968 for Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical School and $273,605 for highway construction and improvements.

The Fire Department is requesting $236,500 for self-contained breathing apparatus and $65,000 for brush truck upgrades.

The Police Department is seeking $67,262 for a marked cruiser and $60,152 for an unmarked cruiser.

Also on the warrant are requests for $50,000 to repair a play structure at Dufresne Park, $35,735 to upgrade security camera equipment at the Junior Senior High School, and $38,230 for classroom projectors at the Junior Senior High School.

The town election will be held May 15. The second installment of Town Meeting is scheduled for June 5.
