While fireworks celebrations have already occurred in several area communities, including Northampton and Easthampton, those looking to watch the display this year still have a few opportunities to do so. And for paradegoers, Chesterfield is the place to be on July 4.

Here’s a rundown:

SOUTH HADLEY — The South Hadley fireworks will be held at the Michael E. Smith Middle School, 100 Mosier St., on Saturday. The rain date is Sunday.

Festivities will start at 6 p.m. with the fireworks commencing at 9:30 p.m. There will be food trucks, vendors, face painting, and games for kids. There will be a DJ in the parking lot and the South Hadley Community Band will start to play at 8 p.m.

HOLYOKE — The Holyoke fireworks will be held Friday at Holyoke Community College located at 303 Homestead Avenue. The celebration will begin at 6 p.m., and fireworks will start at dusk. A rain date will be Friday, July 7.

AMHERST — The town’s annual Independence Day celebration and fireworks display will be held at UMass Amherst McGuirk Stadium on Saturday. The celebration will begin at 5 p.m., and the fireworks will start at dusk. A rain date is scheduled for Saturday, July 8, at the same time and location.

CHESTERFIELD — The annual Chesterfield Fourth of July parade and celebration will take place on July 4, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This year is the 76th parade, so the theme is celebrating the “spirit of ‘76’.” Attendees are encouraged to dress up in a patriotic costume. The parade will begin by 10:30 a.m. at 403 Main Road, the location of the town hall.

There will also be a pre-July 4 block party on South Street on Sunday from 4-7 p.m.. Parking will be in the field on North Road across from the Fire Station, with handicapped parking in the Community Center lot. There will be music, food, and a car show.
