EASTHAMPTON — The Municipal Building will be closed this Tuesday and Wednesday for HVAC upgrades, heatwave precautions, and air quality monitoring, according to city officials.

The mayor’s office cited “the anticipated heat wave, ongoing HVAC issues, and the increasing health concerns of our staff” as reasons for the building’s closure.

During the closure, Honeywell International Inc. will work to resolve the HVAC issues, optimize the building’s cooling systems, and monitor air quality.

Residents can still make bill payments by mailing to the address provided on the bills, using the secure drop box at the building’s entrance, or paying online at unipaygold.unibank.com/customerinfo.aspx.

The Municipal Building, located at 50 Payson Ave., is expected to reopen for normal operations on Thursday.
