WESTHAMPTON — A New York-based solar power producer has launched a philanthropic “Green Initiative” to support environmental conservation efforts and local nonprofit organizations, including several in the Hilltown region.

The solar producer, Changing Vision of Energy (CVE) North America, created the initiative as an intersection of clean energy, community engagement and philanthropy. The solar group operates nine solar projects in Massachusetts, delivering a total of around 47 million kilowatt hours of clean energy annually.

For each solar panel installed by CVE, $1 is donated to a local nonprofit organization.

Between 2022 and 2023, the program has donated more than $95,900 to various Massachusetts nonprofits, including: the Hilltown Community Ambulance Association to help acquire a used ambulance; the Westhampton Firefighters Association for essential gear and equipment; and the Friends of Westhampton Library for environmental education resources.
