EASTHAMPTON — Dakin Humane Society will hold a fundraising event called Barks & Brews at Fort Hill Brewery in Easthampton, 30 Fort Hill Road, on Sunday.
The event will feature music, dog-themed activities, dog talent contests, food and Fort Hill’s brews. Guests are encouraged to bring their dogs to join in the fun.
In addition we will present the 2023 Dakin Humane Awards to several recipients for their dedication to animals. Guests can pay $35 for regular admission at the event, and the cost will include their first brew. Most vendors will feature dog-centric products or services.
The event starts at noon with a VIP hour, followed by general admission from 1-4 p.m. Tickets will be available on-site at the event.
Barks & Brews will help offset the cost of sheltering, treating and fostering thousands of animals each year. It will also benefit a number of programs and services that support Dakin’s belief in keeping people and pets together, including its Pet Health Center, Community Spay/Neuter Clinic, and more.

HAYDENVILLE — An art show and an online auction are on tap this month at the Haydenville Congregational Church.
Bidding is now open for the auction, which has a big range of goods and services, including art work, jewelry, food, lessons and services, Native American crafts items, furniture, yard items, outdoor gear, dolls and toys.
According to church trustee Megan Jewett, the online auction benefits the church and the Williamsburg ‘Take and Eat’ program that supplies seniors with weekend meals.
The auction ends Sept. 16, which is the day of an Art Show and Sale held on the grounds of the church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than a dozen artisans from the area will display their work. The church is at 143 Main St., Haydenville.
Auction items will be on display in the church dining room during the Art Fair with bidding ending at the end of the fair.
The fair will also feature a variety of based goods for sale.
More details and a link to the auction site can be found on the church website: haydnevillechurch.org.
