I applaud your decision to replace “Beetle Bailey” with “Phoebe and Her Unicorn” for two reasons.
One, I like the idea of the new comic strip. It is a good idea in many ways.
Second, “Beetle Bailey” is tired and feels like a throwback to World War II and is essentially a couple of dumb “jokes” — Sarge beats up Beetle and the colonel hits on his secretary.
Next, how about replacing “Blondie”?
