Home, vehicle breaks probed in Amherst

AMHERST - Police are investigating break-ins to an Amherst home and two vehicles Wednesday night.

The first incident was reported at 8:45 p.m., when a Woodside Avenue resident told police a television set was stolen from his apartment. Detective Richard MacLean said there were no signs of forced entry.

SOUTHAMPTON — Southampton voters will be asked to weigh in on whether to invest in athletic fields and whether town employees should receive raises at a special Town Meeting planned for Tuesday at 7 p.m. An information session about the proposed athletic fields will take place at 5:30 p.m. before the meeting. Both will be held at the William E. Norris School on Pomeroy Meadow Road.
