Northampton police news
∎ Police took a report Sunday at 1:52 a.m. from a man who was driving his vehicle from a Pleasant Street parking lot when an unidentified man threw a beer bottle that shattered its back window. Police are investigating.
∎ David A. Lyman, 44, of 77 School St., unit D, Hatfield, was arrested Sunday at 12:08 a.m. at the intersection of King and Finn streets on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and unsafe operation of a motor vehicle, police said.
Lyman drew the attention of police when his vehicle was stopped at a flashing red light for a prolonged period of time, police said.
∎ A delivery driver who left his unattended 1995 Honda Accord running on Conz Street reported Saturday at 12:48 a.m. that a man got into it and drove off. Police have not yet located the stolen vehicle.
∎ Laurel A. Ferrera, 20, of 20 Bottoms Road, Florence, was arrested Friday at 9:35 p.m. at Wal-Mart, 180 North King St., on a charge of shoplifting by concealment and three counts of possession of class E substances, police said.
Ferrera allegedly left the store without paying for $67 worth of merchandise by placing items in her pockets and backpack. During her arrest, police found on her Xanax, Wellbutrin and Adderrall, medications for which she didn’t have prescriptions.
∎ Douglas J. Foucher, 38, of 269 Florence Road, Florence, was arrested Friday at 5:15 p.m. on Finn Street on a Northampton District Court warrant for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, police said.
∎ Laurie A. Lisman, 49, who provided an address as the streets of Northampton, was arrested Friday at 2:28 p.m. on Elm Street on warrants from Holyoke District Court for trespassing and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, police said.
∎ Garrett H. Fitzgerald, 25, of 45 Maple St., Apt. 1, Florence, was arrested about 4:12 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Florence Road and Scanlon Avenue on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and a marked lanes violation. According to police, Fitzgerald lost control of his car while traveling northbound on Florence road, and crashed into a snowbank near the intersection.
