Saturday, September 6, 2008West Covina, Calif. - Raymond Villeneuve, 75, a French teacher for almost 50 years, died of pneumonia Aug. 31 at the Citrus Valley Hospice in West Covina, Calif.
Mr. Villeneuve was born in Louiseville, Quebec, Canada, and moved to Northampton, Mass., when he was 7.
Mary Cargel, 94, Hadley native
Friday, September 5, 2008WINAMAC, Ind. - Mary R. "G.G." Cargel, 94, died July 10 at the Pulaski Memorial Hospital.
Mary was born Dec. 31, 1913, in Hadley.
A service was held July 14 for Mary at the Frain Mortuary, with the Rev. Martin Sandhage officiating, and she was laid to rest in St. Peter's Cemetery in Winamac.
Catherine Shea, 96, avid Sox and Celtics fan
Friday, September 5, 2008Northampton - Catherine E. (Mullins) Shea, 96, of Franklin St., died Monday, Sept. 1, at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
Born in Hatfield May 6, 1912, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna (Doppman) Mullins. She attended Smith Academy High School.

Born Oct. 17, 1955, in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of William J. Wood and Susan (Timpanaro) Wood.
Janice was raised in New Jersey and moved to the Pioneer Valley in 1979. She had lived in Sunderland since 1988.

She was born May 5, 1921, in Portsmouth, N.H., the daughter of the late Fred and Edith (Orcutt) Ritchie.
