Beware Route 9 snarls in Hadley on Tuesday

Work on Route 9 in Hadley at the construction site for the upcoming Lowe's home supplies store had the road looking more like a Los Angeles freeway jam on Tuesday. Vets of the Route 9 reconstruction project from two years back don't need to cringe; this looks like a short-term project (ironically, on the eastbound side fo the road, the other side from the Lowe's project), but it did choke traffic down to one lane, and backups extended to the malls for westbound traffic and the former Registry of Motor Vehicles building for eastbound travellers. Expect some delays for the rest of the afternoon and plan to work around them if you can -- or at least prepare to sit back and enjoy your car radio.
