Nate Powers hits 1,000-point milestone

Holyoke Catholic senior Nate Powers scored the 1,000th point of his career with a basket 21 seconds into the second half Friday.

The Chicopee native is the 10th player in school history to reach the mark.

Powers needed 15 points entering the game against Granby, which led 66-40 after three quarters.

This is through Thursday's games. Shoot me an email at mmoran@gazettenet.com with remarks/question. Some quick thoughts: Division 1 is stacked. Plenty of quality teams with depth and talent. Division 2 is down as of right now. The Berkshire North, normally good for a couple top-end teams, was a combined 9-23 entering Friday.
