GRANBY — A West Springfield man was killed following a head-on car collision Sunday night on Route 116 near the entrance to Granby Heights, according to Granby police.
Ryan Kennedy, 28, who was driving one of the two vehicles involved in the crash that occurred around 10:40 p.m., was transported by Granby ambulance to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where he died from his injuries, police said.
Emergency responders went to the scene following 911 calls.
Kennedy was the sole occupant of his 2002 Mercedes convertible, which was traveling north toward the Notch, while the driver and passenger in the other vehicle, a 2014 Chevy Cruze, suffered minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by Granby police and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
