UMass football: Minutemen announce transfer additions for 2024 season

As the spring 2024 semester officially kicked off at UMass on Thursday, head coach Don Brown and the Minutemen were able to announce the next set of roster additions with 19 transfer student-athletes joining the team. 

Among the 19 transfers, 12 are on the offensive side of the ball and seven on the defensive side. Additionally, there are three former four-star recruits and nine former three-star recruits.  

The incoming student-athletes include defensive backs Brennen Bailey (West Liberty) and Ryan Barnes (Notre Dame), wide receiver Keshawn Brown (Duquesne), defensive back Lake Ellis (Bryant), wide receiver Sterling Galban (Jacksonville State), offensive lineman Mao Glynn (Cincinnati), defensive linemen Tim Grant-Randall (Eastern Michigan) and Jaylen Hudson (Wake Forest), quarterback Ryan Jankowski (Akron), wide receivers Jakobie Keeney-James (Eastern Michigan) and Frank Ladson Jr. (Miami), tight end Jaelyn Lay (Alabama State), tight end Dominick Mazotti (San Jose State), offensive lineman Luke Painton (Columbia), defensive lineman Etinosa Reuben (Georgia Tech), offensive lineman Brayden Rohme (California), tight end Noah Staples (College of the Canyons), offensive lineman Paul Tchio (Georgia Tech) and defensive back Jashon Watkins (Tennessee State). 

Previously, Brown and the program announced the signing of 10 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent on the first day of December's Early Signing Period (Dec. 20), including Da'Marion Alberic (RB), Tanner Burlingame (OL), Kezion Dia-Johnson (WR), Jadrian Gibbs (Viper), AJ Hairston (QB), Ludovic Martin (TE), Kenyon Massey (WR), Keith Sarkodieh (DB), Brock Taylor (OL) and Brahim Wynn (DE). The next high school signing period will open on Feb. 7. 

Additionally, three preferred walk-ons will join the team for the spring including Cookie Desiderio (RB/Tulsa), Will Perry (QB/ St. Thomas More High School) and Sam Staruch (WR/Michigan). 

The Minutemen open their 2024 season on Aug. 31 at home against Eastern Michigan.
