The UMass men’s basketball team returned to practice Saturday after a brief pause.

The Minutemen are planning to play their next scheduled game against Fordham at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Mullins Center.

It was the second time UMass stopped team activities due to positive COVID-19 tests or contact tracing. The first one lasted 18 days.

This one only needed five days. The Minutemen originally paused Tuesday out of “an abundance of caution” due to contact tracing.

UMass last played Sunday at Davidson. The Wildcats announced Wednesday they were pausing due to a positive COVID test among Tier 1 personnel (players and coaches).

The Minutemen (5-4, 4-2 A-10) have lost eight games so far this season, most due to COVID-related issues.
