NORTHAMPTON — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation plans to close Route 5 between Interstate 91’s Exit 23 on and off ramps during the overnight hours from Monday, Dec. 11, to Friday morning, Dec. 15.

Route 5 traffic in each direction will be detoured starting each night at 7 on Monday-Thursday nights, until the next morning at 5:30 a.m. Route 5 traffic should follow the posted detour in each direction.

Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.

All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
