The Smith College basketball team returned to its winning ways, defeating Dean 79-33 at home Thursday.
Amelia Clairmont led the Pioneers (13-1) with 12 points and grabbed three rebounds.
Smith featured a balanced attack. Morgan Morrison scored nine, while Ashlyn Bohn (eight rebounds), Dashelle Gleissner (eight assists, four rebounds, three steals), Kyra Rideout (seven rebounds, two blocks) and Elle Jo Whalen each scored eight points. Hapshire Regional grad Katelyn Pickunka added six points and six rebounds in just 10 minutes.
The Pioneers led 23-9 after a quarter and scored 42 points in the paint. They shot 56.9 percent from the field and held Dean to 23.8 percent.
