AMHERST — At least two TV sets dropped from the upper floors of a downtown building onto the sidewalk below led to the arrests of four college-age people early Tuesday morning, according to police.

Officers were summoned to Kendrick Place Apartments, 57 East Pleasant St., at 12:14 a.m. after getting a report that electronics were thrown from the third floor of the building on the Triangle Street side. Loud yelling and loud music also were reported.

When police got there, they discovered a loud party, and the residents told police their guests had tossed the TVs out the window.

Arrested on charges of violating the town’s noise and nuisance house bylaws, both of which are subject to up to $300 fines, police said, were Samantha Irwin, 20, of Amherst; Jennifer Kubler, 21, of Garden City, New York; Margaret Alexandra Peebles, 20, of Milton, Georgia; and Brooke Reilly, 20, of Needham.
