SOUTH HADLEY – About 20 children, many visiting from the nearby Gorse Children’s Center at Mount Holyoke College, were busy producing movies downstairs at the Odyssey Bookshop on Thursday morning during a "Kids Have All the Write Stuff" writing party. The party was hosted by University of Massachusetts College of Education lecturers Robert Maloy and Sharon Edwards, who co-authored the original “Kids Have All the Write Stuff: Inspiring Your Children to Put Pencil to Paper” in 1992. They were joined by fellow faculty member Torrey Trust, with whom they co-authored their 2019 version, “Kids Have All the Write Stuff: Revised and Updated for a Digital Age”. The youngsters, encouraged to express their ideas and tell their stories through pen and paper as well as filmmaking, spent most of the morning creating props and animating these for their short features.
