Keira Cole and Northampton picked up a pair of victories over the weekend.
Cole scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the grades 5 and 6 girls basketball team scored a 34-31 victory over Longmeadow on Saturday. Northampton also scored a 34-4 win over Holyoke on Sunday.
On Saturday, Ella Sasser scored seven points and pulled down 12 rebounds, while Quinn Spears scored nine points and blocked six shots.
Against Holyoke on Sunday, Cole scored 14 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for another double-double. Spears (six points, three steals), Ella Dunphy (four points, four rebounds), Zora Nteta (four points, three rebounds) and Clea Casey (two points, two rebounds) also made key contributions.
In seventh and eighth grade action, Northampton took down Holyoke, 39-31, on Sunday behind a balanced scoring effort. Liv Joensen (nine points, 13 rebounds),ย Liv Busoneย (eight points, seven rebounds), Anna Oravec (six points, five rebounds),ย Makayla Fydenkevezย (six points, seven rebounds),ย Emme Calkinsย (five points, six rebounds) and Neoma Lane (five points, 13 rebounds)ย all keyed the win.
On Saturday against Longmeadow, Joensen scored 10 points and notched 15 rebounds in a 33-24 loss. Calkins added five points and Oravecย scored three points to go with eight boards.
