Reigner elected to Freedom CU’s board

SPRINGFIELD — Belchertown resident Daniel Reigner, a lieutenant with the Springfield Police Department, has been elected to the board of directors at Freedom Credit Union.

The Springfield native currently serves as the Detective Bureau Supervisor for the Crimes Against Persons Unit. After earning an associate degree in criminal justice at Springfield Technical Community College, he went on to complete his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Curry College in Milton. He is a past recipient of the Springfield Police Department Commendation.

In addition, three board members were reelected to the Freedom’s board, including Florence resident Lawrence Bouley, Northfield’s Louis Guillette and Springfield’s William Carey.

Lander-Grinspoon hires director of student services

NORTHAMPTON — The Lander-Grinspoon Academy welcomes Rosemary Reidy as its director of student services. Reidy brings over 19 years of experience in special education, working with students with disabilities in varying capacities. She also has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in the field, and a diverse background in education, including administration, grant writing and strategic planning.

Reidy has extensive experience with all the tasks associated with assessing student needs, implementing individual education programs, designing instruction for those with special needs, use of assistive technology, collecting and analyzing behavior data and monitoring specialized equipment. She most recently served as the director of pupil services for the Auburn Public School district.

Reidy has lived in central Massachusetts for her whole life. She has family in South Hadley.

Agricultural Adventurers Award goes to Cook Dairy Farm, David Cook

HADLEY — The Eastern States Exposition’s New England Fellowship of Agricultural Adventurers recently presented Gordon Cook Jr., and the Cook Dairy Farm in Hadley with the 2022 Agricultural Adventurers Award.

The award honors Cook, a premier Holstein breeder and century dairy farm, in recognition of his work in the purebred cattle industry, advocating for dairy farmers as well as his service on the Northeast Interstate Dairy Compact Commission.

The New England Fellowship of Agricultural Adventurers began in 1953 as a means of citing leaders who have made exceptional contributions to New England agriculture. Considerable emphasis in the selection is placed upon innovation, pioneering. Individually and the contributions to the agricultural revolution that has made American agriculture the most efficient in the world.
