As the president of 80 Acres, I want to share with our community a message of gratitude, love, and honesty during a challenging time. At 80 Acres, we have always been driven by a deep commitment to serving those most impacted by climate injustice and racial inequality. It has been our honor to stand alongside the resilient and remarkable people of our community, providing support, creating programs, and working together for a more just world.

Every day, our mission has been fueled by the strength and courage we see around us. Unfortunately, I must share that 80 Acres is facing an unexpected pause in our operations. A key funder, whose commitment was instrumental in sustaining our work, has not yet delivered the promised funds. As a nonprofit that runs on the passion and support of our partners and community, this delay has left us in a difficult position.

While we are uncertain about our immediate future, we are actively seeking ways to move forward and exploring all possible options to resume our work. To our incredible staff — your dedication and talent have shaped 80 Acres into what it is. Each of you brings a unique spirit and energy that makes our work possible, and I am endlessly proud of everything you have achieved together. You are truly the heart of 80 Acres, and I am grateful for every moment of your commitment to justice and community.

And to our beloved community, thank you. Your support, enthusiasm, and solidarity have sustained us, inspired us, and kept us going through every challenge. As we navigate this period of uncertainty, please know that our love and gratitude for you are unwavering. We may not know exactly what the next steps will be, but we promise to keep you informed as soon as we have a clearer path. In this moment of pause, we send our heartfelt thanks and love to each and every one of you. We are here because of you, and we will continue to fight for justice, together. Thank you for walking this journey with us.
