I’m delighted to see more local news on the front page above the fold. That’s why you have local readers! I just have one bone to pick.
Bill Danielson’s “Speaking of Nature” column in the Living section is a wonderful respite from the sturm und drang of most of the national news. I’m sure there are may other readers who feel the same. I’ve been waiting for some of them to write and say how much they enjoy the column, and that you must reprint his photos in color.
I’m sure the newspaper has a limited allowance for color, but couldn’t this single weekly column have a “full color” designation? These detailed images are reminders of the beauty and enchantment available in our natural word, if we only pay attention as Bill helps us do so easily.
The rare yellow Lady Slipper photo (May 24) in black and white made me flip my lid. I’ve had the privilege of seeing one in situ, and every reader of your paper deserves a close up and detailed color image of it.
Please, reorder your priorities about color photos. I look forward to more delightful columns and stunning photographs. Thanks for your consideration.
