I must compliment Mr. John Rhoades on his excellent letter on the “new math” in Northampton [“Questions math of new water rates,” Gazette, April 19]. Nice job!
But two things have not been mentioned at all. First, how about all the people that will lose their job when Coke “gets out of Dodge?” Secondly, we have just had a real estate tax increase. What will happen when Coke isn’t paying taxes? I thought “civil service” meant that our elected officials were supposed to take care of their residents, not the other way around. Our wells are running dry!
