EASTHAMPTON — The Southampton man who died in a single-vehicle crash last week was identified as 21-year-old John “Jack” Fitzgerald Enright.

In his obituary, Enright, who would have turned 22 on Tuesday, Dec. 19, is described as “a vibrant soul, full of passion and enthusiasm for life.”

He had a passion and talent for working on cars, “a form of artistic expression that allowed him to be his purest self and unwind from the stress of the world.”

His obituary also states that Enright’s deep bond with the family’s late dog, Oreo, was a testament to his caring and loyal nature. He is survived by his parents, brother, friends and longtime girlfriend.

He will be remembered by loved ones “for the warmth of his smile, the kindness in his heart, and the genuine love he showered upon those he held dear.”

According to the Northwestern district attorney’s office, the vehicle Enright was driving crashed near an intersection on Pomeroy Meadow Road, and he was pronounced dead at the scene on Tuesday morning.

The vehicle was headed eastbound on Pomeroy Meadow Road before failing to stop at a stop sign and striking a guardrail at the intersection of Loudville Road, Glendale Street, Pomeroy Meadow Road and West Street.

Easthampton Police and Fire responded, followed by the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS), Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and Massachusetts State Police Detectives from the DA’s office.
