HUNTINGTON — A special election to fill vacancies on the Select Board and School Committee is being held Tuesday, coinciding with the state primary, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Stanton Hall, 26 Russell Road.
Using a separate ballot, voters will be asked to fill a Select Board position through June 30, 2023, and a School Committee position through June 30, 2024.
The lone name on the ballot is William Hathaway of Pisgah Road, who is seeking the Select Board seat, according to Town Clerk Linda Hamlin.
Though no names are listed for School Committee, Lisa D. Goding of Montgomery Road has announced she is interested in the position, which serves as the town’s representative to the Gateway Regional School Committee, as a write-in candidate.
A 15-year resident, Goding has a daughter in the middle school and a son at Littleville Elementary School. She has served on the Gateway Regional School District’s SPED Parent Advisory Council and previously served on the Littleville Elementary School’s PTO.
Goding also is the program director for It Takes a Village, which offers rural families support during the postpartum period.
“This town and school means the world to me and I am passionate about making our district the best it can be,” Goding wrote in a post to a Facebook community.
